Most of life is spent on something else. Work, relationships, or everyday stressors suck our energy dry. Most of us hold a limited bandwidth to focus on ourselves. However, our minds frequently remind us about how many problems we have inside.
Individual work is a unique opportunity to have two people focusing 100% attention and resources on you. This is a precious opportunity to refine your sharp edges, reduce stress, and deeply connect to a life of purpose.
Session Flow
- Center. We take a few moments to get present.
- Check-in. Take a moment to notice growth between sessions.
- Choose Focus. Select one specific element of your life to focus on.
- Identify. Assess areas in which this causes issues.
- Practice. Build a variety of responses to triggering issue.
- Action. End the session by making a committed action for the following week.
Individual work puts you into the driver seat of your life. You will learn how to pay attention to the world around you, how to practice holding stories about yourself lightly, and how to build a pattern of actions that bring you closer to what your heart desires.
Signs You May Need Help:
Many find themselves needing an extra help. Minds just do some creative things to get dealing with daily pains and frustrations. It’s a completely normal thing to need help in fact we grew up as species needing help from others in the community. It’s not a weakness; it’s necessary to survive.
We avoid hard things and our minds attack us. We may notice this with highly critical thoughts. We find themselves giving up on a task because we cannot do it perfectly. We get stuck having pattern of avoiding hard, difficult and important things. This often shows up as believing that there is one “right” and “wrong” way to do most things.
Therapy helps people who struggle in relationships. A partner sacrifices their own wellbeing to make something perfect. Or, we distort our view of ourselves to please others. Sometimes, we harbor judgmental and critical thoughts about ourselves.
With consultation we get unstuck from obsessing about the past and future to living in the moment. We find the reason’s we are beating up ourselves because we couldn’t get something right. We move forward.
